General Background: Civic education in primary schools requires concrete pedagogical tools to bridge abstract national values with tangible daily practices. Specific Background: Third-grade students frequently memorize Pancasila principles mechanically without actively participating in discussions or connecting symbols to real-life behavior. Knowledge Gap: Traditional recitation approaches fail to address students' inability to link structural text sequences with concrete civic actions. Aims: This report documents the implementation of concrete media and simple teaching aids to improve Pancasila comprehension, symbol matching, and oral participation among third-grade learners. Results: Findings indicate that oral participation increased from thirty-five percent to fifty-nine percent, while exit-ticket summary quality improved from fifty-three percent to seventy-five percent. Novelty: The study integrates tactile cut-and-paste text manipulation with structured exit-ticket reflection tailored specifically for lower-grade civic instruction. Implications: Educators can adopt these hands-on instructional aids to foster active peer collaboration and meaningful value internalization in primary classrooms.
Key Findings Highlights
- Tactile media manipulation transforms mechanical memorization into meaningful civic comprehension,
- Collaborative group tasks significantly elevate classroom oral participation rates,
- Formative exit tickets effectively track conceptual progress and identify student misconceptions.
